Automation and robotics
We are very pleased to introduce our new cooperation partner Prof. Dr. Thomas Bock, Chair of Construction Realization & Robotics at the Technical University of Munich. Prof. Bock is an internationally recognized expert in automation and robotics.
The task of the Chair of Construction Realization and Robotics is to expand the traditional core competencies of design and construction, to increase the field of activity of future graduates and specialists, and to create new employment opportunities. Located at TUM within the Bavarian High-Tech Cluster, in which the Chair is well integrated, the Chair acts as an incubator for the development of sociotechnically integrated and construction-related technologies. In the master’s program Advanced Construction and Building Technology, which the chair has coordinated since 2011, the chair has succeeded in bringing together students from eight different disciplines (architecture, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, economics, interior design, computer science, mechanical engineering).
The Chair of Building Realization and Robotics combines management competencies (construction management, technology management, innovation management) with competencies in advanced technologies (production engineering, ICT, microsystems engineering, mechatronics, automation, robotics, personal assistance technologies) and applies them to solve the future demographic challenges of our society by taking into account all phases of the life cycle of a building (development, planning, construction, use/performance, deconstruction/end-of-life).
